Ukrainian Drone Strike Hits Russian Oil Refinery: Details Revealed

In a joint special operation between Ukrainian intelligence and the Security Service of Ukraine, details have emerged regarding the Ukrainian Drone Strike on a primary oil processing installation at an oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk, Russia.

Sources speaking to “Ukrainska Pravda” within the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine provided insights into the operation.

Reportedly, a Ukrainian long-range drone targeted the primary oil processing unit at the refinery in Nizhnekamsk, resulting in a fire.

The capacity of this installation amounted to 8 million tons of oil, constituting 2.6% of Russia’s total annual oil processing. Additionally, this refinery ranks among the top five largest refineries in Russia.

Earlier in the day, unmanned aerial vehicle attacks were carried out on enterprises in the Tatarstan region of Russia, specifically in Yelabuga and Nizhnekamsk.

According to Ukrainska Pravda’s information, Ukrainian special services were behind these operations.

It is worth noting that the Financial Times reported alleged calls from the United States urging Ukraine not to target Russian oil refineries and other energy infrastructure, expressing concerns that it could lead to increased energy prices and further escalation.

However, this information was denied by the Office of Ukrainian President.

Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Olga Stefanishyna, stated that oil refineries within the territory of Russia are legitimate targets for Ukraine from a military perspective.

According to her, in this case, Ukraine is acting in accordance with NATO standards.
