The UK and Ukraine have solidified their partnership with the signing of a new defence agreement aimed at fostering cooperation on defence and industrial matters. The landmark agreement, inked in Kyiv amidst the backdrop of the UK’s largest trade mission to Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion, signals a significant step forward in bolstering the strategic ties between the two nations.

The signing ceremony, attended by high-ranking officials including Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Alexander Kamyshin, Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, and UK Minister for Trade Policy Greg Hands, marks a pivotal moment in the collaborative efforts between the UK and Ukraine.

The agreement, a testament to the UK’s steadfast support for Ukraine’s defence endeavors and long-term recovery, is poised to enhance the efficiency of Ukraine’s military operations.

Its primary objective is to facilitate joint initiatives tackling security challenges, bolster defence industries, and spearhead prominent joint projects in the coming months.

With the UK’s private sector playing a crucial role in Ukraine’s recovery, initiatives such as the UK-Ukraine Infrastructure Taskforce are poised to provide valuable expertise in rebuilding Ukraine’s infrastructure.
